Low Emissions, Quality Power with 100% Back-up
MAN Diesel has recently launched environmentally-friendly engines with capable of low emissions and giving both fuel flexibility and a high security power supply on top of the well-known reliability of engines from MAN Diesel & Turbo.
In our portfolio we offer two Dual Fuel engines that efficiently and with low emissions convert liquid fuel (“diesel operation”) or natural gas into electrical power. The possibility to switch over immediately from gas to diesel operation and vice versa allows multiple applications with a variety of fuels.
The “small” 32/40DF with a cylinder output of 400 kW and the “big” 51/60DF with a cylinder output of 975 kW.
Our Dual Fuel engines offer several advantages for the customers:
-
High power concentration (similar to Diesel fuel operation)
-
High efficiency (similar to Diesel fuel operation)
-
Low NOx-emissions in gas operation without catalytic exhaust gas after-treatment (SCR)
Retrofits
The latest dual-fuel gas engine, the 1,000kW/cylinder 51/60DF is based on the successful type 48/60 diesel engines. As a result, it is possible to retrofit existing 48/60 engines to full 51/60DF specification. The conversion represents an attractive solution for customers wishing to take advantage of the growing global natural gas infrastructure, to meet tightening emissions limits or, especially in the case of existing cogeneration applications, to take advantage of incentives for the generation of high efficiency, low emissions power.
