- MAN B&W Diesel displayed its new series of engines ~ the RK280 at the Europort 2001 Exhibition in Amsterdam.

- The second of the three new Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Brunei Navy was launched at Glasgow. Each of the 2,000 tonnes displacement vessels are powered by four twenty cylinder RK270 engines.

- Ruston engines are powering two new tugs,Enseleni and Palmiet part of the Portnet Fleet. Each tug is powered by twin Ruston 6RK270 engines rated at 1900 kWb at 1000 r/min, giving a bollard pull of 50 tonnes and a free running speed of 12 knots.
