- 12/02/2010, Chinese Ferry Company Orders MAN Engines
- Bohai Ferry Co., Ltd. has ordered four MAN 16V32/40CD propulsion plants to power two passenger vessels to supplement its fleet. The four-stroke engines will be built at MAN Diesel’s production centre in Augsburg, Germany, and will operate at 750 rpm, providing a total of 16 MW of installed power for the 2300P/2500LM RoPax vessels.

- MAN Diesel entered a new industry segment this October with the launching of the tuna-freezing purse seiner “Playa de Azkorri” in Spain’s Basque Country. The vessel, considered by experts as one of a kind, features an MAN 8L32/44CR medium-speed main engine.
- 27/11/2009, Sister to Record-Setting Dredger Sets Sail
- October 2009 saw the launching in Spain’s Basque country of the dredger “Leiv Eiriksson”. A sister ship to the record-breaking “Cristóbal Colón” that was launched in July 2008, the vessels share common specifications, each featuring two MAN 16V48/60B medium-speed main engines and complete propulsion trains.

- The propeller designers and PrimeServ staff at MAN Diesel Frederikshavn, Denmark could sit back satisfied on 12 October when a full-scale bollard-pull test on the Esbjerg-based fishing vessel ‘Jette Kristine’, showed an increase in bollard-pull performance of an impressive 23.5%.
- 06/10/2009, MAN Diesel Introduces 10 MW Engine at 1,032 rpm
- The new 28/33D version boasts an improved design and is available in 12-, 16- and 20-cylinder versions, with respective power outputs of 5,460, 7,280 and 9,100 kW. With a 10% overload possible for one hour every six hours, these outputs rise to 6,000, 8,000 and 10,000 kW respectively, thereby making the 20-cylinder version the first 10 MW engine at 1,032 rpm.
